Safety is paramount on the railway. The UK is rightly proud of its safety record. By it's natures, safety and compliance training can leave learners feeling disengaged and disinterested - which is a risk no rail operator can take.
Great Western Railway (GWR) wanted to revitalise and redesign their twice-yearly Safety and Business Brief and wanted to upskil facilitators to lift that learning off the page.
We consider ourselves facilitation experts at A8 Learning - so we gladly rose to that challenge. We compeltely redesigned the learning too...
Our facilitation elevation journey is a continuous one. Using the breifing opportunities for each Safety and Business Cycle, we break our facilitation skills programme into manageable, bite size chunks. Creating a focus on one or two key skills or challenges each cycle means facilitators can learn something new and have the opportunity to put it into practice in each cycle. Then they can come back for more!
We've also designed complementary eLearning resources to help facilitators build skill and confidence in their role - which is often in addition to 'the day job'
